ORANGE PARK - Friday evening, it was go big or go home Friday for the Middleburg Broncos, Ridgeview Panthers, and Fleming Island Golden Eagles as all three teams ended their games with the 15-run mercy rule after only four innings.

The Middleburg Broncos bucked out of the barn in the bottom of the first inning slapping seven runs on the board in their first at-bats against the Westside Wolverines taming the Westside team 15-0. Fisher Ammons would rack up three hits in all three of his trips to the batter’s box, earning a double, and two singles as the Broncos logged 12 hits on the evening, taking advantage of the Wolverine's five errors.
“We had to stay with our approach, work towards the middle, and opposite field which let everything work for us tonight,” said Broncos Head Coach Daniel Pearce. "Today we were focused on good approaches, good at-bats. Pitching we focused on just finding the zone. We’ve had a rough patch in the last few games. The kids’ heads have been staying in the game, so today was just us, have a good game, let’s do our job, let’s continue to play the game the right way, and let things work out the way they should.”
The Broncos used the outing to polish up pitching from Maddox Lee who earned the win by tossing the ball in the first inning, and handing off to Brayden Daigle, Dylan Taylor, and Johnny De Antonis all taking the mound for one inning each, keeping the shutout intact.
The Ridgeview Panthers went on the prowl as they traveled to the meet-up with the Tigers of Andrew Jackson, putting them away 20-2. The Panthers got rolling quickly with the first at-bats of the game, blasting the Tigers with five runs before the Tigers could even get a chance to see if they could stop the damage.
After a quick three outs for the Tigers, the Panthers took a deep bite out of the Tigers' mojo with a 15-run second inning. The Panthers wound up credited with 10 hits on the event. Douglas Langley led the charge for the Panthers with four runs batted in, going two for three at bat. The team took 11 walks in the four short innings. Tommy Glasspoole went one inning, followed by Anthony Campanella who closed out the last three innings combined giving up only a single walk and striking out six batters.
The Fleming Island Golden Eagles swooped in to light up the scoreboard on Coach Tuttle night as they took down the Riverside Generals 17-2. Coach Jimmy A. Tuttle, who left us in October 2021 was a staple in the Golden Eagle Dugout, doing everything and anything to help coach the Golden Eagles. The team wasted no time honoring Coach Tuttle with a dominating first inning, emblazoning the scoreboard with eight runs in the first at-bats.
“The last two games we haven’t hit the ball too well,” said Fleming Island Head Coach Mike Martino. “Your mentality has to be, we just have to come out here and do what we do and get the bats rolling, and we did. There was still the pressure of losing the last two games. Tonight was a big night for us to honor Coach Tuttle.”
Chris Reali started the first inning rally with a two-RBI single, followed by a Tanner LaClair RBI double, a Generals’ wild pitch to bring in two more runs, capped off with Tanner Upton with a three RBI single just to start the show. Keegan Leckband went all four innings for Fleming Island striking out nine batters, giving up zero hits.
