Francis (“Bubba”) L. Davis, Jr., 63, passed away peacefully at home in Middleburg, Florida, surrounded by his loving sisters, early on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Bubba was born in Savannah Georgia to parents Francis L. Davis, Sr., and Mary Frances Davis Adams. He lived the last 20 years in Middleburg, where he worked on his sister Gloria’s small ranch tending her horses and other animals. Bubba led a colorful life, traveling and working in different parts of the country including the offshore oil rigs in Patterson and New Orleans, Louisiana, with his brother, construction in New Jersey, and building homes on Hilton Head Island, and in and around Savannah, Georgia with his brother-in-law, Joey Ward.

He moved around a lot, but he always came home to his family. His favorite saying was “It ain’t for everybody.” Bubba had a generous and loving heart. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, but his greatest love was his family. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love through them.

Bubba was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances Davis Adams, and his younger brother, Christopher Allen Davis. He is survived by his father Francis L. Davis, Sr., sons Eddie Davis and Daniel Davis and daughter, Janie Davis; sisters, Rose Marie Alexander (Neil), Becky Michelle Drew (Don “Doodle”), Gloria Dawn Moheng (John) and Kathy Jo Ward (Joseph “Joey“); seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and fifty-seven-plus nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Bubba’s life at Brannanfield Baptist Church, 4360 Discovery Dr., Middleburg, FL 32068. Visitation with family begins at 10:00 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. service will be officiated by Pastor Ken Webb. After the service, there will be food in the dining hall provided by the wonderful ladies in the church.
