Middleburg High girls volleyball shows off their Class 5A championship trophy and gold medals after beating Barron Collier 3-0 in Winter Haven last week. For first year coach Meredith Forkum, who took over for coach Carrie Prewitt, the win and the state championship run was "Surreal" for her as she says she knew the team would be competitive, but they far exceeded expectations. "It hit me at dinner after the game when we were eating at the Texas Roadhouse down there and I saw these gigantic smiles on all the girls faces," said Forkum. With medal in teeth is sophomore Libero Haley Fugate.

Fleming Island boys golf coach Bruce Cloud holds his Class 3A championship trophy with team after Golden Eagles brought home double gold from the FHSAA championship tournament; a team title and the individual Class 3A champion in sophomore Tyler Mawhinney.
