Winn-Dixie providing free, safe trick or treat experiences

CLAY COUNTY – Families who are looking for a safe and fun trick-or-treating experience can visit their local Winn-Dixie store this Halloween, Oct. 31, from noon to 2 p.m. Free candy stations will be located throughout each neighborhood store, with candy and healthier snacks served safely by associates donned in their favorite costumes, protective masks and gloves.

As the effects of COVID-19 continue to evolve throughout the country, Winn-Dixie residents and their children es to celebrate Halloween safely with their loved ones by hosting Halloween trick-or-treat events in all local stores to maintain a sense of normalcy during this uncertain time – and have some fun!

Customers will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat by visiting complimentary candy stations located throughout their neighborhood store – healthier options are also available – which will be served safely by Winn-Dixie associates donned in their favorite Halloween costumes, masks and gloves. Costumes are encouraged, but not required, for participation in the trick-or-treat events. However, for a safer celebration, masks are required for everyone’s health and well-being. Each store will continue to follow appropriate cleaning and sanitation guidelines with hand sanitizer available at each candy station.

In addition, Winn-Dixie in-store pharmacies are encouraging customers who are participating in the trick-or-treat events to stop by the pharmacy department for a no-cost flu shot (with most insurance plans) as an additional way to keep their families safe and healthy this flu season.

Winn-Dixie understand the tremendous impact the pandemic has had on our customers and associates, which continues to affect not only day-to-day life but also special moments for families to make memories. Whether young or young-at-heart, these trick-or-treating events ensure local families can celebrate Halloween safely together and gives associates the opportunity to have fun, while providing lasting store experiences that our customers can always count on.
