KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - Senior forward Aaron Wiley broke twice and battled through two Newberry High defenders to push the Keystone Heights boys soccer team to a 4-2 win over the Newberry High Panthers Monday night at Keystone Heights High School.
Wiley, with his two goals coming in the first half, put the Indians ahead quickly of the Panthers with Noah Jaramillo also scoring in the first half. Anthony Brunt was the third goal scorer for coach Trevor Waters who now sports a 3-1-1 season record.
Keystone Heights has upcoming games on the road at Fort White and at home against Trenton.
In the girls game also against Newberry, previously unbeaten at 3-0-0, the Lady Indians struck first with Kayden Huntley taking a feed from Tayler Buchanan on the sidelines before rifling a shot center near the top of the 18 to put Keystone Heights up 1-0. Newberry answered to tie the score before a free kick to Keystone Heights Halea Lam just about from the corner kick stripe bent magnificently to inside the far post to put Keystone Heights up 2-1.
Newberry broke free near the end of the game to tie with a header in the upper corner of the Indians' net.
Keystone Heights' record sits at 3-2-1 while Newberry's is 3-0-1.
