MIDDLEBURG – Controlled purchases of methamphetamine by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a Middleburg man deputies said was “believed to be consistently distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl on a daily basis” for trafficking and gun charges.
James Malcolm Davis, 45, was booked into the Clay Jail after being charged with trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl, five counts of possession of weapons or ammo by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and two counts of selling methamphetamine after CCSO investigators used confidential informants to purchase methamphetamine from Davis on July 1 and Sept. 10. When they stopped David following the Sept. 10 purchase, they uncovered a more extensive stash of narcotics in the car.
Davis’ bond is $400,012.
