SANTA FE - With some sized up players attacking the line of scrimmage on both sides, the Ridgeview High Panthers’ football squad displayed a bit of size advantage at key positions in two spring game halves of football Monday night; against Keystone Heights and against host Santa Fe,

With power running from back Rayhn Hutchinson and some nifty shifty running from Kimal Marshall and Travis Pinkard, Ridgeview coach Bryan Arnette had a look at what could be a good inside outside run game under the direction of quarterback Trayvon Malone. Malone, a big sized basketball athlete, showed some good footwork outside the pocket while possessing a strong arm downfield. Malone was victim to a slew of dropped passes, but did connect with good results with Micah Burdesky-Smith on a sideline pattern for 30 yards then hit Deshawn Green on a 50 yard scoring play with Green outmuscling a defender from Santa Fe at the goal line.

Out of the backfield, Christian Felder turned a short pass into a 25 yard pickup with good sideline speed.

Former offensive lineman Braylon Hawkins, a sturdy 240 pound plus athlete, was a slot back for power running and dipped downfield for some dump passes.

On defense, with Hunter Creech at an outside linebacker slot and JJ Moore at the other end, the Panthers were able to squeeze the Santa Fe offense. The secondary got beat on two long passes and will need some shoring up although Trumoni Corbitt had some nice open field tackles on Santa Fe’s speed back.

One guy on the offensive line, Jacob Jones, was an impressive sized player that appeared to dominate at will.
