GREEN COVE SPRINGS — The 23rd annual Soul Food and Music Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Vera Francis Hall Park.
The event will celebrate the city's 150th anniversary and feature a parade, food, games, music and plenty of fun.
The parade begins at noon on Palmetto Avenue, followed by an opening ceremony and a tribute to legendary R&B artist Frankie Beverly.
Along with various food, clothing and craft vendors, the event will feature many live musical artists and bands, such as Helen Miller, Liz Owens, Men of Soul, The Special Formula Band and David James.
Additionally, there will be a kids' zone, barbecue rib contest, sweet potato pie contest, kickball tournament and dance-off. Trophies and ribbons will be distributed to the winners.
Festivities will conclude at 7 p.m.
