Posted

Former Ridgeview High quarterback Tyler Huff continued his outstanding debut as an Indoor Football League player with the Jacksonville Sharks with the IFL naming Huff as the offensive player of the week after Huff led the Sharks to a 65-33 win over the Quad City Steamrollers in a key division game in Jacksonville.

Huff, with seven touchdowns for the game; four by rushing off 188 yards and three by air with 73 passing yards, has three more game left for the Sharks to secure a top seed for the upcoming playoffs after a recent win over the two time defending IFL champ Arizona Rattlers.

Huff was named by the Sharks as their offensive player of the week as well with recently signed defensive back Richard Coffey named defensive player of the week by the Sharks. Coffey, a Baldwin High grad and also a player at Oakleaf High School, had two fumble recoveries that led to Sharks scores and also caused a fumble.  Coffey also had 11 tackles for losses from his safety position.

Huff also was named the Play of the Game recipient with a first half 15 yard touchdown run that saw Huff plow over a Quad City tackler at the goal line.

Jacksonville ends their season with the Green Bay Blizzard visiting Jacksonville in a key game between two of the three top teams in the division.
