CLAY COUNTY – The Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise spread holiday cheer by delivering Holiday Cookie Trays to various organizations in Northeast Florida.
The beneficiaries included military organizations, first responders, and nonprofits.
The Navy-Marine Corp Relief Society at NAS JAX, USO Greater JAX, Clay County Fire and Rescue, Clay County Sheriff Department and 911 Emergency Team in Green Cove Springs, Florida Army National Guard Recruiting Office in Orange Park, Orange Park Police Department, First Coast Women Services, Quigley House, Waste Not Want Not and Clay County Rescue Mission were among the recipients. A total of 18 trays, each containing seven dozen cookies, were distributed.
Duane Mallicoat, the Club’s President-Elect, said this marked the fourth year of the Holiday Cookie Tray Project. The project is funded annually through donations from club members. This year, the donations surpassed the project’s cost, and Orange Park Sunrise gave an excess of $300 to the Rotary Foundation’s Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
This initiative exemplifies the spirit of giving and community service that the Rotary Club Orange Park Sunrise embodies, especially during the holiday season.
