Man sent from Jacksonville jail to face 2023 drug charges
ORANGE PARK – A Jacksonville man was transported from the Duval County Jail on April 23 to face two drug trafficking charges from 2023 in Clay County.
Ervin Alphonso Whitfield, 50, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said he sold the drugs to a confidential informant on Nov. 2, 2023, in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant.
According to the affidavit for arrest warrant, Whitfield sold 25.8 grams of methamphetamine and 14.9 grams of fentanyl for $1,450.
Whitfield’s bond is $300,006. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 19.
Teen jailed after threatening to blow man’s ‘brains out’
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – An 18-year-old man was arrested on Saturday, April 26, after deputies said he pointed a .22 caliber rifle at another man and threatened “to blow his brains out” during an argument.
Utilizing the Cops without Borders Agreement between the Clay, Bradford, Alachua and Putnam county sheriff’s offices, Nathaniel Harrison Cercy, 18, of Keystone Heights, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after deputies with Clay and Bradford talked with him on his cellphone to insist he give himself up.
He was accused of threatening James Ray Hack Jr., 26, of Keystone Heights. Hack was subsequently arrested for failing to appear in traffic court after getting a ticket on Dec. 16, 2024.
Cercy’s bond was set at $100,003, while Hack’s bond was $2,502.
