ORANGE PARK - Town Manager Sarah Campbell gave the council her resignation letter at Tuesday’s meeting.
The resignation officially marks Campbell’s transition as the next city manager of Fernandina Beach.
Council members were emotional, acknowledging their gratitude and appreciation for Campbell’s work.
Campbell has been with Orange Park for 16 years, initially appointed town clerk and assistant town manager in 2009 and 2015.
Campbell was named town manager back in 2017. Her last day will be Nov. 15.
The council will address the town's next steps at a special meeting on Thursday, Oct. 3. Mayor Randy Anderson urged residents to attend.
In other news, the council voted 4-1 to approve the new two-year red light camera agreement extension with Verra Mobility.
