MIDDLEBURG – Lions Club members from the Orange Park Lions Club visited the Safe Animal Shelter with a donation of bleach and dog, cat, and kitten food.
Carl Crosby, Vicky Crosby, Kezia Check and others visited the shelter, spending time there and bringing donated items.
The Lions Clubs International is an international service club organization, with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas worldwide.
The Orange Park Lions Club just celebrated its 75th Anniversary this year. They meet on the second and fourth Monday at 7 p.m. in their meeting hall at 423 McIntosh Ave.
The club reaches out to provide eyeglasses to those in need, accept donated used glasses and hearing aids, provide eye exams for those who can't afford them, provide diabetes research, take part in senior citizen services, help local food banks and many other services.
