Kathryn E. Evers
Kathryn E. Evers passed away suddenly on November 25th 2021 at the age of 90. She was born July 15, 1931 in Fort Payne, Alabama and later her family moved to her granddad’s farm in Fyffe, Alabama. Her high school sweet heart, Pete, enlisted in the Navy, they got married, then after graduation they set off to begin their Navy life tour. So much fun they had with all their Navy friends!
She was preceded in death by her parents James Lester Tumlin and Martha Janie Tumlin and her grandson Mikel Benjamin Evers. She is survived by her 3 children Candice LeCompte, Donald Jerry (Theresa) Evers, and Janie (Gary) Whitmore. She had 7 grandchildren, Bradley Evers, Zachary Evers, Mari Evers, Holly Lupo, Alan LeCompte, Alisha Adelman, and Alex Whitmore. She also had 6 great grandchildren, Lauren Lupo, Kaitlyn Lupo, Jacob Evers, Orion Evers, Caleb Cisco, and Jack Whitmore.
Kathy enjoyed life to the fullest, golfing, shelling, snorkeling, waterskiing, dancing, partying with her friends and family. Kathy and her family would return to the farm to work and play during summers and holidays, were Pete would come spend his vacation time. When they retired from the Navy, they settled in Orange Park and got their real estate licenses. She worked for over 40 years at Watson Realty and Island Realty until injuries took her away from the career she was so passionate about. After her second retirement she loved going to the beach, pool with the kids and manicuring her succulents and flowers on her veranda. She spent most mornings in her final years enjoying sunrises from her patio sanctuary. While she will be missed, we take comfort knowing she is no longer in pain or restricted by ailments and is instead enjoying the company of her loved ones passed and our Heavenly Father. Visitation will be held Friday December 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at 2 pm at Aaron and Burney Biven Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Ave. Orange Park, Fl 32073.
