Donna Sherylane Bessent Elliott
Donna Sherylane Bessent Elliott, 70, of Fleming Island, Florida went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 10, 2021. She was born June 23, 1950, to Norma Marceline Roberson Bessent and Callas L. Bessent Jr in Jacksonville, Florida.
She lived the majority of her life in Northeast Florida graduating from Paxon High School in 1968 and residing in Fleming Island for the last 27 years.
Donna was a full time mother and homemaker until her children began school. Before her retirement in 2015, she was employed for almost thirty years in data processing at what is now known as Black Knight Incorporated where she had numerous friends, many like family.
Donna and her late husband, Rufus Jerry Elliott were married April 13, 1984, blessed with 35 years of love together. She was a true believer, a lover of her Lord, and a member of Harbor Baptist Church in Fleming Island. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star(Woodstock Park Chapter #270), Khem Temple No.85 Daughters of the Nile, and an active supporter of the West Jax Shrine Club. She was fun loving with a bright smile and infectious laugh that would brighten everyone’s day. Donna’s greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
She was a compassionate lady who was known for listening without judgement, providing a shoulder to lean on without expectation, and the best, warmest, most love filled hugs in our world.
Sherylane is survived by her siblings Leonard Bessent, Judith Tucker (Connor), Fred Bessent (Deborah): her Children Shonna Yarbrough, Michael Elliott, Melinda Lewis, Tiffany Stevenson, and Corbett Yarbrough Sr (Karlie); her Grandchildren Casey, Lake, Alexis, Alanna, Corbett Jr, and Kinsey and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Broadus Raines Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs. The memorial service will be on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10am at Harbor Baptist Church, Fleming Island to be followed by the graveside service at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Donna’s name to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Cmdr. Charles Ernest Little
Cmdr. Charles Ernest Little USN, 81 years old of Orange Park, FL passed away April 26, 2021. He was born July 5, 1939 in Micco, FL to Charles Lee Little and Mildred Ernestine Little.
Charles graduated from Melbourne High School, Melbourne, FL. He enlisted in the US Navy September 4, 1957 and retired April 1, 1989 after 32.5 years of service. Some awards he received in the military were: 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 2 Navy Commendation Medals, Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal with Star, Vietnam Service Medal with 5 Silver Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation Gallantry Cross Medal, and Battle “E” Ribbon.
Charles contributed to local scholarship funds within the Orange Park Community. He enjoyed wood working, repairing vending machines, coloring, leather working, and time with family. He will be remembered for his lifelong dedication to our country and serving others, advancing from seaman recruit to Commander of the US Navy.
Charles is survived by his wife, Ruby Mae Little; son, Charles E. Little; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Fr. Sebastian Garcia as Celebrant. A graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors rendered.

Elisha Adam Carter
Elisha Adam Carter, age 77, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on May 13, 2021 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Elisha was born in Maxville, FL on March 29, 1944 to the late Robert Carter and Lillie Wilkerson Carter. He was raised in Maxville, FL where he met and married the love of his life Alma Taylor Carter on March 29, 1963. In 1969, Elisha and Alma relocated to Middleburg, FL when they found their forever home. He was a member of Black Pond Baptist Church where he served and worshipped his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Elisha enjoyed his long-time career as a truck driver where he drove for many different companies in the union. He was a people person who loved talking to anyone and meeting new people. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Carter; and sister Madeline Centers.
Elisha is survived by his loving wife, Alma Carter of Middleburg, FL; children, Glen Carter and Theresa Carter both of Middleburg, FL; brothers, Louie Carter and Daniel Carter both of Maxville, FL; grandchildren, Blaine, Justin, and Katie; and his great granddaughter, Reese. A Graveside Celebration of Elisha’s Life will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Long Branch Cemetery with Pastor Charlie Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville, FL. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel . Gregory Allen Moorehead
Gregory Allen Moorehead, 74, of Fleming Island, FL passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was born in Dennison, Ohio to the late Jim and Thurma Moorehead. As a child, Greg moved to Tampa with his family and graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1964. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1965 until 1969 where he met his wife Sally while stationed in Boston. He later graduated from the University of South Florida. After falling in love with Clay County while traveling for work, Greg, his wife, and two daughters moved to Orange Park in 1987.
Greg’s 40 year banking career saw him working at SunTrust Bank and Ameris Bank before retiring from American Enterprise Bank. He was community minded and very active on many local boards, including the YMCA, Clay County Council on Aging, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary’s Orange Park Sunrise Club, and Orange Park Medical Center. Greg was a huge fan of all things Florida Gators.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Thurma Moorehead; and sister, Connie Simmons. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sally Moorehead; two daughters, Leigh McDade (Jim) and Lindsay McDade (Neal); and four grandchildren, Andrew, Abigail, Meredith, and Maryn.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:00pm at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1649 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.
