MIDDLEBURG – A 33-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 24 after leading Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a chase while riding on an all-terrain vehicle along Thunder Road, County Road 218, Green Road and Rustic Oak Trail.
Joseph Mark Brisbane, of Middleburg, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, resisting/obstructing/opposing law enforcement, attempting to flee or elude law enforcement with lights and siren active, driving with a suspended license and improper operation of a vehicle on a public road after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance.
Before they arrived, they were notified Brisbane left the property on an ATV that wasn’t street legal and was traveling on Thunder Road. He refused to stop and led deputies on a chase until he was stopped. He abandoned the open-wheeled cycle on Rustic Oak Trail and ran into a wooded area where he was captured.
His bond was set at $117,513.
