Utility Operator– Town of Orange Park
The Town of Orange Park is seeking candidates for the position of Utility Operator. The position requires a skilled professional in the Water / Wastewater Department. Incumbent will be responsible for operation of the Town water and AWWT Wastewater plants. The position will be responsible for running laboratory tests to monitor plant performance, making adjustments as necessary to keep systems in compliance with regulatory agencies. Duties include maintaining charts of water pressure, water and sewage flow, record various meter readings, operate and maintain equipment such as pumps, blowers, chlorinators, fans and drives. Incumbent makes periodical rounds of water / wastewater facilities, lift stations for proper operation. Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED, valid Florida driver’s license, and State of Florida Class C wastewater operator license. Requires heavy lifting and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Full time with benefits including vacation and retirement. Starting salary is $40,522 DOQ.
