CLAY COUNTY – Floridians looking for an inexpensive way to get a dose of the great outdoors before school starts back up should check out the Real Florida Reader Day Pass. The no-cost pass, available to those with a public library card, provides free park admission to Florida’s State Parks.

The passes are available at any library.

With more than 170 state parks to choose from, including Mike Roess Gold Head State Park and Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail in Keystone Heights and nearby parks like Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park in Olustee and Ravine Gardens State Park, Rodman Recreation Area and Rodman Campground in Palatka and those interested will have ample opportunity to witness the state’s natural and cultural resources first hand, continuing their learning adventure while enjoying summer days exploring new places.

Passes are only valid until Sept. 12.

If you have trouble choosing from the 195 parks, try one of the nine state parks in Columbia County. Known as the “Springs Capital of the United States,” the county is a natural theme park for outdoor adventure and a wildlife haven and staple in outdoor recreation.
