GREEN COVE SPRINGS - During Tuesday's meeting, the Board of County Commissioners recognized the Fleming Island High state championships.
In November, the Eagle Band One won the Class 5A State Champion title at the Florida Marching Band Championships. Also, the boys' golf team finished as Class 2A state champions in the Florida High School Athletic Association state golf championship. At the same time, senior Ava Brinkman was crowned as the 3A state one-meter diving champion.
In other business, the BCC voted 5-0 to add two pickleball courts to the county.
The $168,180 project will demolish and reconstruct the tennis courts at Foxmeadow Recreational Park in Middleburg.
