LIVE OAK - After a three point Class 3A point total in 2022, Fleming Island High's boys weightlifting team roared back into near state championship form (3A champs 2021) with two third place team finishes in their region 1-2A championships held Saturday at Suwannee High Scbool Suwannee, the defending Class 2A champions, is now in Class 1A.

For the Golden Eagles, now in Class 2A instead of 3A, it was Choctowhatchee, just 16th in Class 2A last year, dominating at the top with a 44-29-28 score for first, second and third; Fort Walton Beach second in Traditional scoring, and a much closer 48-39-36 slate in Olympics with the same three teams. Also in the mix was a fifth in Traditional and a sixth in Olympics by Ridgeview; a sixth in Traditional and a eighth in Olympics by Middleburg. Orange Park finished at 15th with Clay at 17th in Traditional. Orange Park was 13th in Olympics and Clay finished 13th.

Fleming Island stayed in the chase behind the individual titles in Tradition from Zach Davis at 154 and Jered Rhodes at 199 with Davis also winning at Olympics with Tyler Beverly at 169 and Gage Isbell at Unlimited winning titles in Olympics.

For Ridgeview, Randy Emmanual won at 129 in Olympics and Traditional with Collier Stephens at 238 winning in Traditional in a five point battle with Fort Walton Beach's Logan Cannon.

Middleburg earned titles from Josh Senear at 169 with teammate Gabe Harb second in Traditional at 169.

In weight class top 10 finishes, Fleming Island, in Olympics, had Nicholas Cruz in sixth at 119, fourth Tradition; Isaiah Ramos eighth at 129; Joshua Pereira third at 139; Conner Russell seventh at 154, ninth in Traditional; Pierre Solorzano ninth at 183; Rhodes second at 199, and Kevin Reyes second at Unlimited. In Traditional, Tyler Williams was fifth at 169, Tabari Tucker was fifth at 183 and Isbel second at Unlimited with Braden Cunningham, also in Unlimited fifth.

For Ridgeview, in Tradition were Emmanual, first in 129, Chris Baptiste, second in 139; Luis Medina, fourth in 169; Kimai Marshall, eighth in 169; Stephens, first at 238; Braylon Hawkins, fifth at 238. In Olympics, Emmanuel first at 129; Kimal Marshall, sixth at 169; Elias Cortes, 10th at 219; Stephens, fifth at 238 and Hawkins second at 238.

For Middleburg, in Olympics, Ethan Donahoo got ninth at 119; Aaron Gonzalez was seventh at 129; Aiden Walls was eighth at 139; Riley Johns was fifth at 154; Luke Wheeler was eigfhth at 183; Colton Frew was sixth at 199; T.J. Lane was 10th at 199; Kohda Moses was third at 219; Tucker Cody was seventh at 219; Riley Steele was eighth at 238 and Charles Little was ninth at Unlimited. In Traditional, Donahoo was 10th, Gonalez was 10th, Trent Robinson was seventh at 154, Johns was 10th, Josh Senear was first at 169; Gabe Harp was second at 169; T.J. Lane was sixth at 199; and Moses was sixth.

For Orange Park, in Traditional, David Lava was sixth at 154, Donaven Stevens was 10th at 183; Tyler Jackson was eighth in 219; Keith Bingham was 10th in 219, and Ean Huffaker was eighth in Unlimited. In Olympics, Huffacker was seventh in Unlimited.

For Clay, in Traditional, Zerek Migliore was seventh in 129.
