CLAY COUNTY – The Jewish Federation & Foundation of Northeast Florida has hired Mariam Shpeen Feist as the new chief executive officer for the nonprofit organization. Feist is the former executive director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas and has spent more than 25 years in Jewish community service.

During a recent board of directors meeting, Jewish Federation & Foundation President Jennifer Plotkin expressed her appreciation to current Executive Director Alan Margolies retiring at year-end after more than 30 years with the organization.

“We cannot let this moment pass without acknowledging the immeasurable impact that Alan has had on our Northeast Florida Jewish community as well as our Jewish community in Israel and around the world. We are grateful for his leadership and for the strong connections and foundation he has created during his tenure, and look forward to continued growth and fulfillment of our mission under Mariam’s leadership.” She added, “We are excited to welcome her to our Jewish community and look forward to many years of success working together.”

The Jewish Federation & Foundation of Northeast Florida is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to building a vibrant and inclusive community and sustaining Jewish life in Northeast Florida, including Clay, Baker, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, Israel and the world.

Feist will begin work for the organization on Nov. 1.
