Jesus said many times: “Do not fear.” It was His response to concerns about the past, the present and the future.
To the young girl who was to give birth to the Savior, the angel said, “Fear not.”
To the shepherds in the field as they were awestruck by the appearance of a host of angels, the message was, “Fear not.”
The coming of Jesus into the world and into your life is a declaration that you do not have to live in bondage to fear! Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8 KJV) and that includes destroying fear.
Our confidence in our Lord is our faith. If you will put your trust in Him and His word, you will not be defeated by fear!
When you leave a doctor’s office after a crushing diagnosis of illness, His word to you is “Do not fear …” When your closest and most treasured relationships start crumbling, His message to you is “Do not fear …” When you are being unfairly and harshly judged and events are spiraling out of your control, His message to you is “Do not fear …”
Fourteen times in the four Gospels, the Lord used this statement “Fear not.” That is how important it is for you to recognize it is His message to you today.
Whatever issues and problems you are dealing with today, put your trust and faith in your Savior and you will be able to face them without fear!
Jesus’ message is a message of hope, love, trust and faith! He wants you to have victory in your life over doubt, unbelief and fear.
One of the greatest things Jesus said is a personal message to each one of us. In Luke 12:32, it is recorded that Jesus said, “Fear not, little flock, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
