Faith walk: He lives

Jesus lives! To many of us that statement has become no more than a routine comment. To others, it is the very fullness of life!

But think about it. After dying an ignominious death on the cursed tree of crucifixion, Jesus left an empty tomb in a resurrected body. He was brought out of the grip of death by the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.

Now He lives again. And He lives never to die again.

There are three things about Jesus that the belief system of the world will not accept. They are:

1. That He was born of a virgin.

2. That His death was the sacrifice for sin for all who will believe.

3. That He rose from the dead.

The Bible says that one must believe all of these three truths to be saved. This is the statement written by the Apostle Paul in the divinely inspired, inerrant word of God: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” ~Romans 10:9

Making a true confession of the Lordship of Jesus requires faith. Then comes the follow up power point. You must truly believe in the depths of your heart that God the Holy Spirit has raised Him from the dead.

If you do not believe with all your heart that Jesus was born to a virgin mother (the Lordship of Christ); that He died as a substitute on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins; that He literally rose from death in newness of eternal life, then you have missed God’s divine plan for your salvation and the salvation of the world.

Jesus arrived in Bethany four days after His friend, Lazarus, had died. He spoke to the sisters of the dead man. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

The last part of His statement was this question: “Do you believe this?”

That is the question for you today. If you do believe it and confess it, the Bible says you will live forever!
