One of the most Beautiful Creatures God has created is the monarch butterfly. There are reserves in various locations where the Monarch butterflies gather. Those places are tourist destinations in many locations in the United States and Mexico.
Another of God's creations is rather ugly. The caterpillar can be seen as repulsive. Never have I heard of a Caterpillar being considered beautiful by anyone! It gives you the impression that it is just a multi-legged, green skinned, big crawling worm.
In His mysterious plan, the God of nature transforms the Caterpillar into the Monarch butterfly. It's a true “ashes to beauty” event that can easily boggle the mind. How can this ugly creature be transformed into a surpassingly beautiful butterfly?
Even more amazing is what God does in our transformed lives. The Bible says you become a new creation when you invite Christ into your life. “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)
The Bible has numerous references to the transformed life Jesus gives us when we receive Him. As examples, read these Scriptures: Romans 5:1-2, Romans 8:1-2, 1 John 4:4.
Many people are in despair today. They think there is no hope for a happy, victorious life because they have fallen so far into sin. Addictions, bad life decisions, hopelessness – these are issues that Christ can answer for you. He wants you to turn to Him just as you are. He wants you to give Him the opening to come into your life and make you the new creation the Scripture above references.
He changes the caterpillar into the beautiful butterfly. It is just that simple – and miraculous -for Him to change your life into a beautiful story of victory.
Something beautiful, something good;
All my confusion, He understood.
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife,
But He made something beautiful of my life.
