Clay Today will test your knowledge weekly and provide interesting facts on various topics: this week, top-selling cars in the United States. The political winds may shift every few years, the Southeastern Conference may be knocked off, and college football may be thrown once or twice every decade. Still, you can count on one thing: the Ford F-Series pick-up truck will be the most popular vehicle in the United States. With 750,789 trucks sold last year, it easily out-paced the Chevrolet Silverado (543,319 units sold) as the most popular vehicle in the country) and it extended its streak to 46 consecutive years as the nation’s best-selling passenger vehicle. According to Car and Driver, pick-ups make up the top three top-selling vehicles. Following the Ford F-Series in first and Silverado in second is RAM. Please don’t make the mistake of calling it Dodge. It’s RAM. The rest of the top 10 list in 2023 includes the Toyota RAV4 in fourth, the Telsa Model Y in fifth, the Honda CRV in sixth, the GMC Sierra in seventh, the Toyota Camry in eighth, Nissan Rogue in ninth and Jeep Grand Cherokee in 10th. All of the top 10 cars are manufactured primarily in the United States. However, half of the Rogues are produced in Japan, which may explain why the manufacturer discontinued the Rogue in the United States market for 2025.
