Clay Today will test your knowledge weekly and provide interesting facts on various topics. This week, famous bands. We all know most of their music by heart. ABBA. Dean Martin. Diana Ross. Queen. Rush. The Beach Boys. Journey. The Grateful Dead. Jennifer Lopez. Guns N’ Roses. Katy Perry. Bob Marley. Here’s something hard to believe: none of these iconic bands or performers have ever won a Grammy Award. What’s even more alarming are some of the artists who’ve won and the songs they won with, like: “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin, “You Light Up My Life” by Debby Boone, “Roseanna” by Toto and “Winchester Cathedral” by The New Vaudeville Band. While we’re at it, how can the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induct acts like the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Laura Nyro, Gene Pitney and Ritchie Valens (name another song other than “La Bamba”) and ignore legendary performers like Blood, Sweat and Tears, Boston, David Gilmour, Grand Funk Railroad, Huey Lewis and the News, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Meat Loaf, REO Speedwagon and 38 Special?
