GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Clay County Supervisor of Elections, Chris H. Chambless, reminds voters the last day to register to vote for the Primary Election is Monday, July 25. The primary election day is Aug. 23.

July 25 is also the deadline to change your party affiliation. Florida is a Closed Primary state, which means voters are limited to choosing candidates of their own party:

• Democrats may only vote for Democratic candidates.

• Republicans may only vote for Republican candidates.

• Voters registered with a minor party, or with No Party Affiliation (NPA), may only vote in non-partisan contests.

It’s easier than ever to register to vote, or change your party, online at RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov. For those who prefer a paper registration form, they may be downloaded on ClayElections.gov, under the “Register to Vote” icon. They are also available at post offices, public libraries, public assistance offices, most government agencies, and the Elections Office at 500 N. Orange Ave., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Paper applications must be signed and postmarked by July 25 to be valid for the Primary Election. All voters are encouraged to review their information and make any updates prior to Election Day.

If you have questions, or need more information, call the office at (904) 269-6350 or visit ClayElections.gov your source for verified election information.
