Thrasher-Horne puts show memorabilia on sale
ORANGE PARK – Signed posters, flyers and banners from recent acts at the Thrasher-Horne Center are on sale at the center’s box office at 483 College Dr. in Orange Park.
The money will go to the Thrasher-Horne Center Annual Fund to provide financial assistance for future programing.
Included in the items are items from Aaron Lewis, comedian Bill Engvall, The Highwaymen, Electric Light Orchestra Experience, LeAnn Rimes, the Oak Ridge Boys, Michael W. Smith, Pete the Cat, Ricky Nelson Remembered and The Young Irelanders.
Items range from $25 to $100, and they can only be picked up at the center.

Impact Clay hosts ‘Voice Your Vision’ at Christ’s Church
FLEMING ISLAND – This year, Impact Clay will be hosting the Global Leadership summit at Christ's Church in Fleming Island on Aug. 4-5. The theme this year is "Voice Your Vision" with a very unique piece involving the community.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to get connected within Clay County while also practicing new leadership skills they’ve learned at the summit. Until Aug. 3, attendees can register for $139.

Curt Towne Band headlines Claystock for St. Michael’s Soldiers
MIDDLEBURG – Southern rockers The Curt Towne Band will headline the third annual Claystock for the East Coast Warriors Foundation to benefit St. Micheal’s Soldiers’ The Homestown Kindness Project.
The daylong event will be on Aug. 20 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Middleburg American Legion Post 250 at 2608 Black Creek Dr. at County Road 218.
The concert lineup includes Gemma Mathews, Stephen Quinn, The Southern Steele Band, 1 Hot Mess, Highway Jones and Big Engine.

Grimm reappointed to Judicial Nominating Commission
TALLAHASSEE – Governor Ron DeSantis reappointed Clay County Commission attorney Courtney Grimm to the Fourth Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission.
Grimm, of Green Cove Springs, received her bachelor’s degree from Sweet Briar College and her law degree from the University of Florida. Grimm is reappointed from a list of nominees recommended by the Florida Bar for a term ending July 1, 2026.

Orange Park Women’s Club to hold annual sale on July 29-30
ORANGE PARK – The Orange Park Woman's Club annual sale is July 29-30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year we are raising funds for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Clay
County. Dolly donates the books but organizations need to raise the shipping cost.
So far Zip Code 32043 is open. The teachers’ sorority Delta Kappa Gamma joined with the Clay County Educational Committee to spearhead this project.

Johnny Van Zant joins Rock the Box 2 lineup
ORANGE PARK – Middleburg-based St. Michael's Soldiers presents Rock the Box 2, a Free Night of Music for our Heroes on Aug. 13 at the Thrasher-Horne Center. A maximum of two free tickets are available for troops and veterans, hospital/front line workers, first responders, teachers and linemen. The show starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be emailed to you as the order is processed. Please allow up to three weeks. All free tickets are on a first come first serve basis. If you want to guarantee tickets, you may purchase them.

Book sale coming to Middleburg-Clay Hill Library
MIDDLEBURG – The Friends of the Middleburg-Clay Hill Library will host another book sale on July 28-30.
Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 28; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 29; and, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 30. Library Friends members will be allowed to shop for books at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Saturday.
Donations will help support the library at 2245 Astor Ave. in Middleburg. Donations of books in good condition gladly will be accepted.

Clay County Master Gardener Plant sale set for Aug. 6
GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The UF/IFAS Extension Clay County Master Gardeners host their annual plant sale Saturday Aug. 6 from 7:30 a.m. to noon outside at the Extension Office at 2463 State Road 16 West.
Free parking and cash/ credit cards are accepted. Thousands of reasonably priced plants, including herbs, flowering plants, and succulents, that thrive in northeast Florida are for sale. Pot sizes typically are one to three gallons and priced from $5 to $10. Specialty items and hanging baskets may be priced slightly higher. Master Gardener Volunteers will be happy to answer any questions you have on plant purchases and other gardening and lawn topics. All plant sale proceeds are used to educate the public in gardening and landscape management.

Clay County looking to fill several job openings
CLAY COUNTY – The Board of County Commissioners is looking for a few good people – make that a lot of good people.
The county posted several job openings, including animal control officer, building inspector, deputy director of engineering, engineering specialist, equipment operator, firefighter/EMT, grants administration analyst, grounds maintenance technician, HVAC technician, kennel attendant, laborer, permit services technician, veterans’ services officer and 4-H young development extension agent (apply through the University of Florida).
