Orange Park Rotary lends its support to WWP’s Carry Forward 5K
ORANGE PARK – The Rotary Club Orange Park Sunrise is looking for participants and donations to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project’s Carry Forward 5K Run on Walk on Nov. 14.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s walk will be done virtually to allow each walker to complete five kilometers wherever and whenever they feel safe. WWP said participants can use their cellphones to count out 7,000 steps if they aren’t sure about distance.
Locally, the goal is to raise $250,000 and the organization already has a commitment for nearly $73,000.
Duane Mallicoat, a member of the guest speaker team for Orange Park Rotary, has $755 of his goal to raise $1,000.
