Clay Special Olympics collects record $31,261 in 2024
CLAY COUNTY – Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone in our community, Clay County finished fourth out of 67 Florida counties in fundraising for Special Olympics with $31,261. The amount represents the most collected in the county’s history.
The Directors of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics Florida presented Clay County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Zachary Cox with the fourth-place award for the accomplishment.
“We have hopes of exceeding our 2024 totals in 2025,” Cox said.
The Clay County Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics on Fleming Island will be at the Hibernia Publix Supermarket on Friday, May 2, at 10 a.m. More details on the route will be announced later.
If you’d like information to sponsor the Torch Run or to make a donation to Special Olympics, contact Lt. Cox at (904) 529-5900 or at zcox@claysheriff.com.
