ORANGE PARK – Clay Humane’s 21st Annual Responsible Pet Owners poster contest winner, Alayna Godwin, has had her poster turned into a billboard located at Blairmore and Blanding boulevards.
“More than ever before, Clay Humane feels the need to encourage empathy and promote understanding, compassion and respect for people, animals and the environment,” explains Senior Staff Veterinarian Dr. Christian Broadhurst.
On Jan. 29, with the help of Clay County Public School teachers, Clay Humane Society held its Responsible Pet Owners poster contest. Participating fifth grade classes designed posters on the significance of spaying and neutering to prevent pet overpopulation. Each school chose three posters to represent their classes and a panel of judges decided the top three overall county winners.
Alayna Godwin, a student at Coppergate Elementary won the 2021 contest. Godwin received a winning package of four tickets to Wild Adventures and a $100 cash prize.
