GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced the loss of one of its own Tuesday morning. The agency posted the following statement on its social media pages, saying: “We mourn with heavy hearts this morning as we let everyone know that Sgt. Eric Danella passed yesterday evening. Sgt. Danella was an active member of our agency, serving as a supervisor in our jail. Sgt. Danella brought a smile to your face the moment you saw him. His CCSOFL family will miss him. Please keep Sgt. Danella’s family and all of us in your prayers over the next few days.” Danella, 33, is survived by two children.
