EAGLE HARBOR - The Clay County mens premiere mens soccer team; whose roster is dotted with numerous former Clay County high school standouts, took a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon against Oceanway FC in a United Professional Soccer League match at the Eagle Harbor Clay County Soccer Complex.
The Clay County SC had on the field such local names as J.B. Alvarez, Trevor Broadbridge and Matthew Male of Fleming Island; Max Bennett, Liam McDonald and Bryan Ortiz of Ridgeview High, plus St. Johns Country Day School standout Landon Brafford.
On the Oceanway FC team out of Jacksonville was former Oakleaf High player Gio Abreu, a defender; forward Dante DeSantis of Ridgeview and forward Luke Graston of St. Johns Country Day School.
The Clay County FC team record is now 1-6-2 with 13 goals. Oceanway improved to 5-3-2 with 19 goals.
