GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said a 41-year-old man doing doughnuts in a go-kart on Kersey Road made his situation worse when he became belligerent with deputies on Nov. 15, leading to his arrest for resisting and opposing law enforcement.
Ronald Gene Thacker, of Green Cove Springs, was jailed for racing a motor vehicle on a highway, parking lot or roadway and obstructing deputies in the performance of their duties when he initially refused to produce his driver's license and referred to them in a profane manner.
Judge Kristina Mobley released Thacker on his recognizance on the go-kart charges but, she set his bond at $10,002 for the resisting arrest charges.
