GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Clay County Board of County Commissioners will be holding three community meetings to provide information on the new county-wide Emergency Rental Assistance Program. Clay County has received $6.6 million from the U.S. Department of the Treasury through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to provide rental assistance to eligible households negatively impacted due to COVID-19 and the resulting economic impact.
Landlords, rental property managers and tenants of residential rental properties in unincorporated and municipal areas of Clay County are encouraged to attend to learn about program eligibility and what documentation will be required when applying.
Community meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. at these locations and dates:
• Monday, March 15 at Green Cove Springs City Hall, at 321 Walnut St. in Green Cove Springs.
• Wednesday, March 17 at the Keystone Heights Pavilion, at 555 South Lawrence Blvd. in Keystone Heights.
• Thursday, March 18 at the Orange Park Town Hall, at 2042 Park Ave. in Orange Park.
The community meetings will provide details on the program overview, eligibility requirements, application process and required documentation. The community meetings are informational only and intended to help potential applicants navigate through the application process.
Applications for Emergency Rental Assistance can be submitted online beginning Monday, March 22, at https://www.claycountygov.com/government/cares-act/emergency-rental-assistance. No applications or documents will be accepted prior to March 22.
