Life moves fast. The noise never really stops: emails, notifications, conversations and responsibilities.
It’s easy to go a whole day reacting to everything around you and forget to sit still long enough to listen for the One who made you.
But the quiet matters. Alone time with God is a lifeline.
Jesus understood this. Even with crowds pressing in and miracles waiting to happen, He made time to be alone with His Father. “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35) If Jesus needed that time, how much more do we?
Alone time with God grounds you. It helps you remember who you are and whose you are. In the quiet, you hear what really matters. You’re reminded that your worth isn’t tied to how much you accomplish but in being fully known and loved by Him.
It’s in those moments that your soul catches its breath. The Word comes alive. Your anxieties begin to lose their grip, and your prayers stop being formal and start becoming real.
This isn’t about checking a box or hitting a spiritual quota. It’s about relationship. Just like any close friendship, your connection with God deepens when you spend intentional time together, without distractions and without an agenda.
Sometimes you’ll feel something powerful. Other times, it might feel silent. But don’t let that stop you. God honors consistency. He meets you in the stillness. Over time, you begin to recognize His voice, His leading, and His peace in a way that changes everything.
So, carve out space. Shut the door, put the phone away and just be with Him. You’ll find that what happens in those quiet moments will start to shape how you live in every loud one.
