LAKE ASBURY – One neighborhood is looking to make some noise this New Year’s Eve.
Make that a lot of noise.
That noise will come from fireworks. Royal Pointe area is excited to bring a professional pyrotechnician-backed show to the neighborhood on New Year’s Eve. Ryan Allen is a licensed pyrotechnician and he’s the mastermind behind the massive display.
“It’s my third year doing it for Royal Pointe, but this is something I’ve done before all of this as well,” Allen said. “We’re all really excited to bring this to everyone for free, especially in a year like this.”
The New Year’s Eve celebration begins at Vianey Place located in Royal Pointe on Henley at 5 p.m. There will be seven different food trucks there, featuring a wide range of different types of food, Allen said. The celebration will be open to all, free of charge. But those wanting to eat will have to the buy food from the trucks.
Allen said there will be plenty of parking and guests should bring their own seats for the fireworks viewing area, although the fireworks will be viewable from the surrounding areas.
The fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. and will take place in a big field-like area in the subdivision.
“I am a licensed pyrotechnician and the show should be pretty awesome,” Allen said.
Allen’s show is compatible to programs offered by cities and counties. He also said unlike fireworks bought at roadside stands, his fireworks are limited solely to licensed pyrotechnicians.
Allen is no stranger to providing big acts in his neighborhood. For the past 15 years, he’s also the creator of the Haunted House in the Winn-Dixie plaza.
Allen said Royal Pointe puts all of it together and he’s just lucky enough to be the person they ask to help. He’s excited to be back for the third consecutive year, and he said he can’t wait for everyone to see what he’s been cooking up for this New Year’s Eve celebration.
“It’s completely free to see the fireworks and we’re so happy to do this for a third time,” Allen said. “It’s been a tough year and fireworks can be expensive so it’s nice to be able to do this for people.
“We’re just a bunch of guys in the neighborhood shooting fireworks and we can’t wait for everyone to see the show.”
