KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – Keystone Heights Senior Center is a part of Aging True, which is a non-profit charitable organization that helps seniors live independently.

The center offers Zumba, craft activities, BINGO and educational programming to adults 60 and older, or those with a disability can enjoy. The center also provides a daily lunch.

“Aging True’s Keystone Heights Senior Center is a fun, engaging environment,” Tourea Robinson, Director of Senior Services for Clay County, said.

Through Clay County Senior Service of Aging True, seniors in Clay County can benefit from the same services as the seniors in Duval County. Health Care, In-Home Care and Nutrition services are some of the services and programs that Aging True offers to its seniors.

The Clay County Senior Service of Aging True also has centers in Green Cove Springs, Middleburg and Orange Park that offer unique activities for their seniors.

The organization was originally established as Cathedral Foundation of Jacksonville in 1962 by a group of St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral parishioners, who were concerned about the health and welfare of seniors in Jacksonville.

In 1974, Urban Jacksonville Inc. was established as a division to focus on community service for seniors in Urban Jacksonville. It was not until 2011 that Cathedral Foundation of Jacksonville and Urban Jacksonville Inc. adapted the name Aging True.

“The name ‘Aging True’ speaks to our support and celebration of independent, graceful aging through or comprehensive programs and services – what aging should be,” Robinson said.

Aging True is currently celebrating 60 years of serving seniors in North Florida. In addition, the Aging True Center in Green Cove Springs obtained a new commercial kitchen which will increase the capacity to serve hot, nutritious meals to Clay County seniors.

“We are constantly taking on new initiatives to improve our centers and more services to Clay County,” Robinson said.
