Faith walk: A life plan

Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the

heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

~The Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13b-14 (NLT)

These are famous words written by the Apostle Paul. He was always striving for God’s very best. You will never reach God’s best for yourself unless you are seeking Him for it.

To reach the highest-level God has for you, you must do these things:

1.Leave the past in the past! Do not try to live on yesterday’s victories. Don’t dwell on yesterday’s failure. Someone said, “You can never drive forward looking in your rearview mirror.”

Paul said, “Forget the past.” He declared that he would forget the past so he could see the goal ahead and strive to attain it.

2.Look toward the future. Keep your eyes of faith focused on God’s great plan for you. You cannot do this while you look back. Again, quoting Paul, he stated his purpose to “look forward to what lies ahead.”

Faith moves forward; it never turns around to live in the past.

3.Live in today. You can have a plan of faith for the future, but you must keep your feet on today’s ground. We are to “press on to reach the end of the race.” There is a great prize for us if we strive daily to reach it for God’s glory.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever,” the Bible says. (Hebrews 13:8) You can live your life in Him every day knowing that He does not change. He is your Savior, Lord, Master, King. Yesterday He was all you allowed Him be to you. Today He is all you allow Him be to you. Tomorrow He will not change. He will be all you allow Him to be to you.

Make your plans with Him today.
