Oh, you think people will never stop setting dates for the return of Jesus? No, they won’t. There have always been “date setters” and there always will be. But Jesus said we do not know the day or the hour that He will return.
Men have always predicted the exact date of His coming. They have always been proven wrong. There is an entire denomination that is founded on an erroneous prediction of the time of the Lord’s return.
In recent times, we have seen highly publicized dates of the Lord’s return. False teachers have proclaimed in books, newspaper ads, and other media, the time that Jesus would return.
They have all been wrong. And every prediction of a date and time that He will return will always be wrong. Because Jesus plainly said that no one knows the time of His coming again. (Mark 13:32)
Anyone who tells you that he knows the time of Jesus’ return is speaking contrary to the word of the Lord, Himself.
What our Master does want us to know in all the warnings He gives us about His return is that we should be ready for it, at all times.
“You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” (Luke 12:40) This is the real warning about His coming. We do not know a certain day or hour; we do know that we should be ready to see Him every day and hour.
This is the message Jesus gave about His second coming: Be ready every moment because there will be no advance announcement of His return, other than the ones recorded in His written word!
This is certain: He promised that He will come again. So, He will!
Do you believe Jesus is coming again? If you do not, you will be caught unprepared for the next great event in world history!
