2A-University Christian (6-3, 1-0) at Clay (3-6, 2-3) (CHS 42, UC 12)
Blue Devils can finish out 2018 on positive note after 35-24 district win over Palatka and win over strong University Christian team.
Against Palatka, Clay rolled up 505 yards of offensive with 431 on the ground as Cedrick Brown lasted all four quarters this time for 211 yards and three touchdowns. Freshman Al’Querius Ray punched in for 130 yards with one score as coach Joshua Hoekstra ran seven ball carriers through the Blue Devil offense with five passes; three to Alec Holt for 29 yards and two to Spencer Lesage for 45; one a 36-yarder.
Kicker Tucker Reape was good on five extra point kicks for Clay. Brown scored three times on runs of three, 10 and five yards with Ray and Dallane Brown both scoring once.
University Christian’s losses have been to 5A-Bolles (6-3), 4A-Bradford County (5-4) and 1A-Madison County (8-1); all destined to playoffs next week.

6A-Middleburg (2-7) at 4A-Bradford (5-4)
(MHS 16, BCHS 10)
Unpredictable Broncos lost a finished game with Ed White on Monday, 49-8, then lost to St. Augustine on Friday, 42-13, so a final win over Bradford would be predictable.

4A-Keystone Heights (4-5, 3-4) at Pierson-Taylor (3-6, 2-3)
(KHHS 38, Taylor 6)
Indians rebounded from loss to Villages, 35-7, with big win over Interlachen, 35-6 and can end season with another big win over Pierson-Taylor on a homecoming night in final week of season. Coach Chuck Dickinson rested his big guns; Friedlin and Channell and let sophomore Sterling Roberts and freshman Kade Sanders run the rock with both putting up near 85 yards and two scores each in Interlachen win. Indians led 28-0 at half.
Whether the Indians stay with their uniforms for playoffs is all up to other teams.

7A-Oakleaf (5-4) at 6A-Ocala Vanguard (9-0)
(VHS 17, OHS 12)
Knights have run pretty rugged gauntlet and have one more shot for coveted district title and secured playoff spot with what would be upset win over unbeaten Vanguard. Vanguard is a Category 1 team in FHSAA playoff points and offers big reason for maximum game from Oakleaf with Bartram Trail and Buchholz both playing lesser opponents.
Vanguard’s closest game was a 20-14 win over North Marion in September. After that, blowouts with near 50 points in each game.

7A-Fleming Island (5-4) at 5A-Orange Park (6-3)
(OPHS 28, FIHS 24)
Orange Park is unbeaten at Hoyt B. Cotney Stadium. That’s about the only advantage in this evenly matched game of frustrated athletes looking to go out in a flurry. Explosive offenses on both may make this a shootout.

Ridgeview - Season over (5-5)
SJCDS - Season over (3-6)
Spartans finished respectably in coach Derek Chipoletti’s first season with strong efforts; 42-13 loss to powerhouse Aucilla Christian (8-1) after holding 13-7 lead; scores from Eli Morton and Max Monroe.

Ridgeview can only watch. Clay rolls over UC in home finale. Keystone Heights sneaks into playoffs. Macpherson works home magic against Fleming Island.
