• The Florida State marching band selects Orange Park High’s Cotney Stadium for rehearsals ahead of the Seminoles’ Gator Bowl game against West Virginia.
• Baxley Sawmill in Middleburg is destroyed by fire.
• Turn-of-the-century medicine bottles are put on display by the Clay County Historical Society at the Historical Museum in Green Cove Springs.
