MIDDLEBURG - Maybe it was the impending thunderstorm that caused a sense of expediency on the track, but both Kimal Marshall of Ridgeview and Mike Wesley of Middleburg took top sprint titles for the 100 and 200 meters at the Bronco Invitational Track meet held Friday at Middleburg High School.
Marshall, a football running back for the Panthers, won his sprints in 11.62 seconds and 23.73 while Wesley, a softball standout for the Broncos, won her specialties in 13.24 and 27.16 despite the impending bad weather.

In the shot put, Orange Park's Mychaela Parker won at 34'-10", ranked 23rd in 3A.
Also winning events were Kayleana Henry of Orange Park in the 400 in a state-fast 1:00.19, and Clay High soccer ace Erika Martinez in the 800 in 2:34.70.
