Lloyd and Kathleen McSheehy
Lloyd and Kathleen McSheehy, husband and wife, eternally together
Holiday plans were abruptly interrupted by an unfortunate car accident that claimed the lives of both Lloyd and Kathleen McSheehy on Thanksgiving Day. Survived by their children, Theresa Hayes (Georgia), Beverly Collins (South Dakota), John McSheehy (Florida), Tim Miller (Florida), Kimberly Tauch (Texas), Collin McSheehy (Texas) and James Tritten (North Carolina), Lloyd and Kathleen, through their blended families, were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Faithful Christians and Patriots through and through, Lloyd and Kathleen served their country and their community. Most notably, Lloyd’s career was highlighted by his 23 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Master Sargent. Kathleen’s dedication to education was never more rewarding to her than when she was in the classroom. It was here that she shared her gift of empowering others to be the best at everything they do. Together, they were quite the pair. She was a charter member of the local Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 4505, and a member of the Hoboken chapter of Loyal Order of Elks Lodge No. 74. Her years aboard the cruise ships fostered her love of travel and she had recently visited St. Maarten. She made a great number of friends here and remained close with her childhood friends up north. She truly loved them all and she was happiest spending time talking and socializing with every one of them Her occupation as a nurse stayed with into her retirement as she was always trying to take care of her friends and help them any way she could. She was known as “The most REAL person anyone knew,” and offered her friends honest straight-forward advice. She was an awesome mother, and grandmother, and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with her daughter and grandson. Even though she is no longer with us, she leaves her family and friends with many wonderful and loving memories.
