Robert Perreault Hoff
Robert Perreault Hoff, age 55, departed this earthly realm and joined his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 20, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on December 9, 1963 in Lemoore, California to the late Michael and Mary Hoff.
Robert graduated high school from St. Johns Country Day in Orange Park, Fla. where he excelled in soccer, and helped his team capture two state championships. His love for soccer continued at Mercer University for two years before transferring to Florida State University, where he graduated with a degree in business.
Upon moving back to Orange Park, Robert obtained his MBA from the University of North Florida. He started a career in banking with Barnett Bank, but set his eyes on becoming an FBI agent. In 1989, Robert was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer, so severe the doctors’ gave him six months to live. He had others plans – living a very active life filled with trips to such places as Russia, Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland and the Holy Land. Robert also became very active in the church, which included volunteer work in the soup kitchen at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in downtown Jacksonville, where he attended Mass. Robert lived his last days in hospice under the careful watch of his brother Charles and a truly incredible group of nurses and caregivers. He was awake and alert to the end, with his family around him and his favorite music in the air. Rest easy, brother, leave your pain and suffering behind you, and know that you will be truly missed by all who knew and loved you.
Robert was preceded by his mother, Mary Helen Hoff, and his father, Michael George Hoff. Robert is survived by his sister, Suzanne; his brothers Michael, Charles, and Joseph; and eleven nieces and nephews.
