Recruits complete Air Force basic training
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Three U.S. Air Force recruits with Clay County ties recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.
McCormick completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
The graduates are:
Airman Joshuwa L. Brown, a 2017 graduate of Clay High in Green Cove Springs. Brown is the son of Le’Vern Brown and Norma Brown of Penney Farms and god-parents Nathan and Stacey Martin of Green Cove Springs.
U.S. Air Force Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Rachel R. Stacy, daughter of Alan and Charlie Howell of Orange Park, is also the wife of Anthony Stacy.
The airman graduated in 2006 from Orange Park High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from St. Leo University’s Orange Park campus.
U.S. Air Force Airman James O. Henley, is son of Daniel and Kim Henley of Middleport, N.Y., and brother of Christine S. Henley of Lockport, N.Y., and Daniel J. Henley of Orange Park.
He is a 2014 graduate of Royalton Hartland High School, Middleport, N.Y.

Rowley ships to next duty station
SAN DIEGO – James A. Rowley of Fleming Island recently reported for duty at Mobile Unit I in San Diego, Calif. where he will be serving as an explosive ordnance disposal technician.
Son, of John and Carla Rowley of Fleming Island, Rowley is a 2010 graduate of Fleming Island High. He also attended Jacksonville University from 2010-14.

Foster gets new orders
KITSAP, Washington – Navy Seaman Aaron D. Foster has arrived for duty as an aviation seaman with the administration office at Naval Base Kitsap, Wash.
He is a 2015 graduate of Oakleaf High School in western Clay County.
