Clay Countians complete basic training
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Two Clay County residents recently completed basic training with the U.S. Air Force at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland at San Antonio, Texas.

Trainees completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Airman Charlie A. Evans, a 2017 graduate of Ridgeview High School, earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Cynthia Evans of Middleburg and William Evans of Orange Park.
Also graduating was U.S. Air Force Airman Christopher M. Redenius, a 2015 graduate of Fleming Island High. Redenius is the son of Christine M. Redenius of Orange Park and brother of Catherine M. Redenius of Middleburg.
