Clay grads complete U.S. Air Force basic training
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Three former Clay County students just finished training with the U.S. Air Force.
U.S. Airman 1st Class Jacob K. Bolena, Mikayla Cardona and Airman Michael L. Carroll II graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland at San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Bolena is the son of Michelle Bolena of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Derek Bolena of Middleburg. He is the husband of Taylor Bolena of Middleburg.
Bolena is a 2013 graduate of Middleburg High and a 2018 graduate of Jacksonville’s Trinity Baptist College, where he received a bachelor’s degree.
Cardona, the daughter of Mayra Bayon of Lake Asbury, is a 2018 graduate of Clay High.
Carroll is the son of Michael Carroll of Ormond Beach and nephew of Bailey Carroll of Raytown, Missouri. He is a 2017 graduate of Middleburg High.
