Cunningham completes U.S. Air Force basic training
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – U.S. Air Force Airman Jacob Cunningham recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Cunningham completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. In addition, Cunningham was in the band flight. He played the snare drum during the graduation ceremonies Jan. 11 and 12. He now heads to tech school, followed by an assignment to his permanent duty station.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
A 2014 graduate of Fleming Island High, Cunningham is the son of David and Pamela Matthews of Green Cove Springs.
