Here’s what will be closed during Christmas, New Year’s holidays

CLAY COUNTY – In observance of the Christmas holiday, all Clay County government offices will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, and remain closed through Monday, Dec. 26. Closures will include the Clay County Administration Building and Public Works Department, Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s Office, Clay County Courthouse, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, Supervisor of Elections, and Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Administration Offices. Offices will reopen at scheduled times on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

All Clay County Schools will dismiss students early on Dec. 19-21, and will take their Christmas/New Year’s break from Dec. 22 through Jan. 3. Classes will resume on Jan. 4.

County government offices will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, in observance of New Year’s Day. The County Administration Building and Public Works Department, Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s Office and Clay County Courthouse, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser and CCSO Administration will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30. The Tax Collector’s Office will be closed all day on Dec. 30 in alignment with the state office closures that service their department. Offices will reopen at scheduled times on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Other closures include:

The Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility and all Environmental Convenience Centers will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 to allow employees to enjoy the Christmas Holiday with their families. Waste collection services will resume on Monday, Dec. 26. Rosemary Hill will operate during normal hours (7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.) on Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26. The News Year’s Day Holiday will not affect collection schedules.

Camp Chowenwaw Park will be open for day use during the Christmas Holiday. The Campgrounds will be closed on New Year’s Eve.

All Clay County Public Libraries will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 26. No materials will be due on those days. Libraries will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Libraries also will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 and reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

The shelter at Clay County Animal Services will be closed Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 26, and will reopen at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27. The shelter will close at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 and reopen at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Orange Park Town Hall will be closed from Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 26, and again on Jan. 2.

Green Cove Springs Town Hall, electric department and public works administration building will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, and Jan 2, while trash and recycling pickup will be suspended on Friday, Dec. 23, Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2.

Also, the Thomas Hogans Memorial Gym will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25.

Keystone Heights City Hall will be closed Dec. 25-26, as well as Jan. 1-2.

Also, on Dec. 24, Cosco will close at 5 p.m.; Walmart, Sam’s Club and Trader Joe’s stores will close at 6 p.m.; Target, Publix, BJ’s Wholesale and Fresh Market will close at 7 p.m.; and, Winn-Dixie stores will close at 9 p.m. All will be closed on Christmas Day.

Stores that will be closed on Christmas include Ace Hardware, ALDI, Bass Pro Shops, Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, Burger King, Cracker Barrel, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Dunkin, HomeGoods, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Marshalls, McDonald’s, Michaels, The Home Depot, T.J. Maxx, Wendy’s, Whole Foods and Macy’s.

Stores that will be open include 7-Eleven, some Starbucks (check each location), Circle K, Daily’s, CVS, Gate, Wawa, Speedway and Waffle House.
